Map of Forest County

Forest County is located at the northern edge of Wisconsin, adjacent to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From the West, US Hwy 8 goes right into Crandon, the county seat. From the South, there are a variety of routes possible. Hwy 55, which goes through the center of the county, is a scenic drive worth experiencing. From Milwaukee, take I-43 to Green Bay, then State Highway 29 west to State Highway 55 north. From Madison, you can take 51 North to Merrill, then St Hwy 64 east to Route 52 or 55 north. Or US 51 to State Highway 8 at Rhinelander, then take Hwy 8 east to Crandon.
